Mr. Rao has a career spanning over 17 years in the finance industry.  He has a unique background with M&A advisory, private equity, distressed debt, and event driven equity experience.  He graduated as Valedictorian of Rutgers College in 1998 with a B.S. in finance, receiving four scholar Athlete awards (Men’s Tennis).  From there he joined the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Credit Suisse First Boston in 1998, advising large corporations on transformational mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.  He then began a career at CAI Managers in 2000 as a private equity associate and was directly responsible for leading several private equity investments as well as directly monitoring existing portfolio companies.  After CAI, Anand attended Harvard Business School in 2003 which provided him with a broader business background and introductions to business people outside the finance industry.  He joined Sandell Asset Management in 2005 as a distressed debt analyst investing the firm’s capital in distressed loans and bonds during the Great Recession.  In late 2010, he joined Litespeed Partners where he worked until 2017.  He was a top senior analyst at the firm making investments in a diverse set of event driven securities in numerous industries and geographies.  His investments generated Litespeed substantial returns during his tenure at the firm.
